To recognise and encourage small entrepreneurs who have demonstrated techno commercial success in the field of biotechnology and comprises a cash Prize of Rs. 50,000, a memento and certificate will be given to the winner enterprise. This award is for the company and not for a person, hence publications and professional activities may not be considered; rather performance of business will be looked up. At least one partner/Director of the company should be a life member of BRSI. Company should be registered in India and technology used should have been developed by the entrepreneur/partner. The age of company should be more than three years and its size should be small scale with turn over less than INR 50 crore annually.

Members of BRSI involved in Biotech R&D for his/her outstanding contribution, which has resulted in commercialization of a product/process will be selected for this award.
WinnersThis award has been instituted by the Centre for Biotechnology, Anna University, Chennai instituted in 2006. Members of BRSI registered for PhD studies in any Indian university/institute below the age of 30 years as on 31st December of award year involved in Biotech R&D for his/her outstanding performance will be selected for the award. Two awards are considered every year.
WinnersThis award has been instituted by the School of Biological Sciences, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai in 2010. Members of BRSI below the age of 40 years as on 31st December of award year involved in R&D in the area of Genomics Sciences for his/her outstanding contribution will be selected for this award.
WinnersThe Society has instituted a memorial award in the honour of Late Professor Sudhir B Chincholkar in the year 2015 (to be conferred from the year 2016). In this regard, an endowment fund has been created with the participation of the following members of the Society, along with the support of North Maharashtra University Unit, Jalgaon of the Society

WinnersThis award has been instituted by the Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi instituted in 2010. Members of BRSI working as teachers involved in Biotech R&D for his/her outstanding contribution would be eligible. Two awards are given in each year, one for Young Faculty below the age of 40 years and one for the Senior Faculty above the age of 40 years as on 31st December of award year.
